More about the artist:

Michael Deyermond was born in Rochester, NY in 1972. In 1994 he left everything he was expected to become and moved to California to become a poet. He has spent the last 30 years engaged in the pursuit of how to paint a poem, how to tell the story, and how to be an artist in america. He believes bookstores are art and has utilized everything he can lay his hands on to transcribe a heart-ravaging narrative, in text and imagery, in painting and sculpture, in installation and mural, for his own psychological nourishment for his own physical survival and to contribute to and connect with all humanity.

With a narrative style akin to a misanthropic prophet, he confronts the contradictions of humanity, inviting viewers to see their own truths within the context of his work. Through dedication to craft and brutal honesty, Michael Deyermond uses his creative arsenal of – humor, pain, anger and love–as a conduit for raw, unfiltered contemporary art expression.

He lives and works in Sonoma County and Los Angeles.
