IN CONVERSATION with Craig Krull, Shana Nys Dambrot, & Luis Motta

Join me this Sunday, July 14 as I moderate a conversation about the art business with three of my esteemed colleagues.

The conversation will take place in the beautiful Art Division Library, located near MacArthur Park.

I’m excited to share this dialogue that will span generational and geographical areas of Los Angeles, bringing fresh insights into the rapidly shifting landscape of the LA art scene.

ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Craig Krull opened his first gallery in West Hollywood in 1991 and has been exhibiting and promoting work by some of LA's most iconic artists since that time.

Shana Nys Dambrot is a leading art critic who recently co-founded 13ThingsLA, an online platform for art journalism.

Luis Motta, recently co-founded ATTOM, an artist-run space in Lincoln Heights, dedicated to giving a much-needed platform for up-and-coming artists to create conceptual art.

The collection includes architecture, painting, art history, design,  photography and allied disciplines. It is the heart of Art Division. Classes such as Bookbinding, Art History and college and career coaching are held in the library, as well as lectures and screenings. The Library is open to our students and provides a safe place to study, research, and find inspiration.

HSCA / IG Live: Katrin Aason Bucher

Join me on Instagram, Friday, July 19 for an HSCA / IG Live featuring the incredibly talented Katrin Aason Bucher.

Katrin will take us on a private tour of her latest show, "Mas allá del Índigo (Beyond Indigo)" where she'll be debuting an array of new textile work dyed with unique materials like tea, cochinilla, onion, avocado pits, cuculmeca, and more.

The exhibition opens on July 18 and will be on view until November at the Museo de Arte y Diseño Contemporáneo in San José, Costa Rica. The museum is housed inside the former site of a national liquor factory, originally built in 1856 and since the 1990s it has become a key destination for exhibiting artists from around Central America. Step inside this historic building as we take a look at Katrin's installation, which includes her most ambitious, large-scale textile work to date.
